The Benefits of an Ultrasound Face Lifting Machine

For some people, age and stress can lead to loose skin.ultrasound face lifting machine As such, it can be hard to avoid looking at your reflection in the mirror and seeing all that sagging skin – especially around the jawline and cheeks. Luckily, we have some amazing solutions that will help re-sculpt your face. One of the best is an ultrasound face lifting machine, which uses sound waves to tighten skin and minimise pores.

The treatments that you see offered in clinics are most commonly HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) procedures. The treatment head emits energy that’s focused at a point below the surface of the skin (this is different from the non-focused energy used in ultrasound imaging for monitoring unborn babies). It creates tiny dots of micro injuries below the skin’s surface, without damaging it, and this kickstarts a healing response in the deep tissue that results in increased collagen production.

This, in turn, leads to a visible lifting effect and fewer fine lines and wrinkles. It also improves skin elasticity, making it look more youthful and firm.

There are a few different ultrasound machines that can be used for face lifting and all have slightly differing treatment protocols. In a nutshell, the therapist will clean your face and may apply a topical anesthetic cream before using the machine to avoid any discomfort. The treatment itself usually takes 30-90 minutes depending on the area and may leave some redness which should fade quickly, but you shouldn’t see traces of the treatment afterwards apart from any residual numbness.

In the past, HIFU was only able to treat the surface layer of the skin, but the latest machines, such as the Dr Sebagh Ultralift LP HIFU machine, can go much deeper, reaching the SMAS tissue plane – this is the same layer that is targeted in a surgical face lift. This allows the therapist to induce neocollagenesis and produce the same tightening effect, as well as helping to reduce the appearance of jowls and crepey neck skin.

As an added bonus, ultrasound facials are safe for use on all skin types and colours, as the energy passes through the upper layers of the skin and doesn’t impact or damage any pigment cells in the epidermis. However, as with any energy-based treatment, it’s not recommended to be used during pregnancy.
